Quirky and busy, upside down and right side up, how I love to watch these tricksters hop up and down our old trees. It is remarkable to see how fit this little one is to find its food and hold on no matter what. The bird and branch are made with a thin veneer of polymer in millefiori marquetry is pieced together to form the top surface of this wall sculpture. The entire piece is backed with 1/4 inch maple plywood and then has a small wooden collar which houses a very strong rare earth magnet. It mounts to the wall with a coordinating countersunk magnet. The bird and branch actually sit about 3/4” off the wall creating a rather realistic sense of depth. Small branches are made with shaped and soldered nickel silver wire covered by polymer clay and joined into the wooden underlayer. Edges of the branch and bird are painted with acrylic paints. 15” H x 11” w x .75” D
